As a response to the COVID-19 public health crisis, the University of the Philippines Ugnayan ng Pahinungód (OUPahininugod) raises a fundraising campaign for the production of face shields and face masks for frontliners and healthcare workers. This initiative was led by UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) Dean Primo Garcia, Asst. Prof. Rita Ramos in coordination with the UPOU staff and employees. The University of the Philippines Open University Office of Ugnayan ng Pahinungod (OUPahinungod) calls on UPOU students who are involved in any kind of volunteer work amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) conducted its first teacher training program on 28 October 2019 at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL) Auditorium, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna.
