With the common goal of capacitating marginalized sectors on digital literacy, the UP Open University (UPOU) through the Ugnayan ng Pahinungòd and the Concentrix CVG Philippines (CNX), a technology-enabled global business services company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 20 February 2020 at the UPOU Community Hub, Los Baños, Laguna.
Present during the MOU signing were UPOU Chancellor Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria, Ugnayan ng Pahinungòd UPOU Director Ms. Rhonna Marie R. Vereña, and CNX representative Mr. Alnard Alejandro U. Pagulayan.
This academe-industry partnership targets inclusive collaborative programs and training on digital literacy leading to employment opportunities for marginalized sectors such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), out-of-school youths, indigenous people (IPs), urban and rural poor, and women groups. It also aims to establish linkages with other agencies and communities for the sustainability of its goal.
Established in May 2019, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungòd is the volunteer service program of UPOU. (CVMina)
