On 05 April 2024, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UPOU, in collaboration with the Campus Development and Maintenance Office (CDMO), launched the Protecting Animal Welfare (PAW) Project. The initiative was conducted at the UPOU CCDL and was attended by staff representing various university units and offices. To support the mental well-being of the UPOU community, Ugnayan ng Pahinungód UPOU launched KaYa (Kalinga at Yakap) App last 29 April  2024. KaYa App is a mental health application that features free mental health-related webinars, stress management videos, creative space, and personal e-journals. In celebration of Stress Awareness Month, the app was further introduced to the employees, staff, and students of UPOU with the help of User’s Guide and other informative publication materials. The Ugnayan ng Pahinungód UPOU, in collaboration with the UP Open University (UPOU) Office of Public Affairs (OPA) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Region X, conducted a UP Admission Orientation for Grade 11 students in Northern Mindanao. Held from 24-26 April 2024, this initiative aimed to democratize access to quality higher education by extending outreach efforts to under-represented areas. Understanding and responding to behavior is critical to successful academic and self-regulation training, both in the classroom and at home. On 16 March 2024, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód UPOU collaborated with two distinguished speakers in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to provide teachers and the general public across the country with an understanding of the systematic and scientific approach to behavioral analysis. In line with the upcoming UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) 2024 scheduled on 3 and 4 June 2023, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód UPOU, in coordination with DepEd Region X office, conducted UPCAT Simulation Exam administration activities to the UPCAT applicants from the region.  This initiative was held on 8-9 May 2023, and aims to familiarize the students with the procedures, guidelines, and protocols observed in taking the UPCAT and orient them in filling-out the examination materials. To further promote mental health wellness and provide stress reduction techniques accessible to the general public, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University conducted an online workshop on crocheting titled “Stitch Away Your Stress” on 28 February 2023 via Zoom. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Mary Meghan P. Perido, an entrepreneur, crochet maker, and an alumna from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) collaborated with the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University in conducting a workshop on Therapeutic Communication on 27 February 2023. The workshop was conducted in a hybrid format. A face-to-face and an online session was simultaneously held at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning Auditorium (CCDL), UPOU Headquarters and online via Zoom. True to its mission of reaching out to underserved communities, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UPOU, in collaboration with the Office of the Staff Regent  (OSR), and the All UP Workers Union (AUPWU) Diliman and Open University Chapters, conducted an ICT Literacy training program among the youth of the Dumagat Indigenous People community from Rodriguez, Rizal, last 8 and 15 October 2022.
