The Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) conducted its first teacher training program on 28 October 2019 at the Centennial Center for Digital Learning (CCDL) Auditorium, UPOU Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. To raise awareness on and to help build a resilient community, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) spearheaded an orientation seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). The seminar held on 27 October 2019 was participated in by 38 residents and local officials of Brgy. Tagumpay, Bay, Laguna. Ms. Rhonna Marie Vereña, a University Researcher in the Faculty of Education (FEd), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has been appointed on 6 June 2019 as the Director of the newly established UPOU Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Office. Director Verena said that the programs that shall be undertaken by UPOU Pahinungod Office are still being firmed-up.
