UPOU, Concentrix to launch MOOC on Contact Center Services

In response to the current challenges, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in partnership with the Concentrix,  a leading global provider of customer experience (CX) solutions and technology and the largest private employer in the Philippines, will be launching a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled “Introductory Course on Contact Center Services”. This course focuses on developing effective online communication skills that will provide competitive skills and knowledge for ICT-enabled and contact services-related jobs.

This academe-industry partnership aims to capacitate various sectors such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), out-of-school youths (OSY), indigenous people (IPs), urban and rural poor, and women’s groups, on ICT-related courses and contact services courses. Participants who have completed the program will be provided with industry linkages for employment opportunities. The project is spearheaded by the UPOU Ugnayan ng Pahinungod in collaboration with the Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Office of Gender Concerns (OGC), Multimedia Center (MC); and Concentrix. 

The MOOC can be accessed through the Massive Open and Distance e-Learning (MODeL), the official platform for MOOCs of UPOU. The pilot launch of the course is scheduled on 15 March 2021 with women’s groups as target participants. This is in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month.

The full launch of the course, scheduled on 1 May 2021, will be available to the general public.
