Protecting Animal Welfare Program

This is a program on managing campus animals that take shelter in the premises of the University. This involves ensuring the campus animals are given the utmost protection from inhumane conditions while at the same time protecting the UPOU workforce from unwanted diseases that can be brought about by these animals such as rabies. This program aims to highlight that animals and humans can coexist harmoniously in one community.

This program aims to provide a community where animals and humans can coexist harmoniously in accordance with RA 8485 and RA 10631. Specifically, this program aims to:

1. Provide adequate food, water, shelter, and care for campus animals while under the care of the UPOU Community;

2. control the population of the community animals through TNVR; and

3. in the event that a community animal needs special care, give the community animal a furrever home through adoption.
