Online Mother’s Class on Newborn and Infant Care
This is a one-month course for pregnant, first-time, and postpartum mothers. The course deals with appropriate methods of newborn and infant care that would promote health and prevent disease among these types of children.
This course generally aims to provide mothers with knowledge and skills on taking care of newborn babies and infants. Specifically, it seeks to:
1. Define prenatal and neonatal care and its importance;
2. Describe newborn’s and infant’s growth and development and the basic concepts on newborn and infant care;
3. Determine basic knowledge on breastfeeding techniques, baby hygiene practices, and other relevant information on newborn and infant care; and
4. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards assuming their role as new mothers when providing newborn and infant care

At the end of this course, pregnant, first time, and postpartum mothers understand the development of newborns and infants and will be able to identify the strategies in taking care of their newborns. Specifically, this course will:
– improve the newborn and infant health
-improve the mothers physical and mental well-being especially during the first 28 days of the child’s life
-increase confidence of mothers in taking up their new role
