Affirmative Action Program (AAP)

The Affirmative Action Program (AAP) aims to democratize access to the National University by providing equal opportunities for students from low-income communities and public national high schools. This is achieved through UPCAT application assistance and test simulations to better prepare students for the entrance exam.

Components/Activities:

  • Conducted UPCAT application assistance for students from underprivileged backgrounds.
  • Organized UPCAT test simulations to familiarize students with the testing environment and structure.
  • Coordinated with UP constituent universities (CUs) to implement outreach activities.
  • Conducted UPCAT Orientation for selected Region X schools.

Target Outcomes:

  • Increased participation of students from low-income and public high school backgrounds in the UPCAT.
  • Enhanced preparedness of students through test simulations, leading to improved performance.
  • Strengthened partnerships between UP and local communities to promote equitable access to higher education.
