E-Guro <\/h2>\n<\/div>

The E-Guro program (Introductory Course in Teaching <\/span>K to 3 Learners, PART I and <\/span>A Journey to Early Childhood Education, Part II)<\/span> aims to strengthen the capacity of teachers in early childhood education, special education, early literacy and early numeracy education through a series of regular professional development activities using online and distance e-learning (ODeL).<\/span><\/p>\n

Specifically, the E-Guro Introductory Course aims to:<\/p>\n

  • Analyze the theories, principles, and issues relevant to teaching K-3 learners, with a focus on understanding the factors that influence their development;<\/li>\n
  • Identify and apply evidence-based strategies for teaching early graders, especially those at risk of disabilities, including making appropriate referrals and understanding legal mandates on inclusion;<\/li>\n
  • Demonstrate effective behavior management skills and practical teaching strategies in areas such as daily living activities, speech and language, and numeracy;<\/li>\n
  • Compare and contrast the stages of reading development and apply strategies to support early literacy in young children; and<\/li>\n
  • Deepen your knowledge of numeracy and mathematical literacy through utilizing teaching strategies that connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
